A computer is a sophisticated device made up of multiple physical parts that cooperate to carry out tasks. The main parts and gadgets of a standard desktop computer are as follows:

CPU, or central processing unit:

The CPU, sometimes called the computer's brain, carries out commands and handles data.

Motherboard:

The primary circuit board houses the CPU, memory, and other vital components. For other hardware parts, it offers connections.

Random Access Memory, or RAM:

temporary storage that is utilized by the CPU to hold data that is being used or processed right now. Because RAM is volatile, when the computer is turned off, its contents are lost.

Devices for Storage:

Hard Disk Drive (HDD): Conventional data storage device that stores data on rotating disks.

SSDs, or solid-state drives:

Slots for Expansion:

motherboard slots for networking cards, sound cards, and graphics cards, among other accessories.

UEFI/BIOS Firmware:

firmware that offers a rudimentary interface for customizing system settings and initializes the computer's hardware on bootup.
